Overview

TGR International brings the GreenRace Sentinel Challenge to Canada this summer! The race will take place on 6th August from Lookout Road at the base of Mount Sentinel. Various routes are on offer depending on your experience level and whether you’d prefer to run solo or in a team. Access the course maps and cue sheets here.

7. Overview

8. Access and Parking
  • Parking is available at the junction of Rosedale Road + Highway 3A.
  • Free shuttle service is offered from Rosedale Road to the Start / Finish area (6km, ~6min shuttle).
  • Shuttle is available every 20 mins on the hour from 8am – 1pm

*There is no vehicle parking available at the Start/Finish area for this event. Vehicles will be towed.

Day 2 – Stagleap Border and Back Charity Challenge

  • Free Entry
  • 33K Run or Bike
  • $1000 CAD in charity donations to be awarded to top overall male + female Strava Crowns – running and biking (4x $250).
  • This is an unsanctioned charity challenge. There is no fee and anyone can attend.

*All runners will be notified of changes by email within 48 hours of event date.
*Solo (run alone), Pairs (start and finish together), Relay (1 runner starts/finishes then next runner up)

12. Age Categories*
  1. Children: 1-8 years old (accompanied by parent)*
  2. Kids: 8 – 13 years old (must run with a parent / guardian / waiver)*
  3. Students: 13 – 17 years old*
  4. Greens: 18 – 35 years old (all categories available)
  5. Primes: 36 – 49 years old (all categories available)
  6. Vintages: 50+ years old (all categories available)

13. Cut-off Times

Competitors from all categories must cross the finish line by 1:00pm.

8K – 800M

18. Course Difficulty Ratings

• 8K – Relatively smooth double track, loose soil, rock, continuous moderately steep grade – 3 overall.
• 16K – More technical, smooth double track, loose soil, more rock – 4 overall
• 25K/50K – As per 16k, grade smooths out in final 3k to top, 1000m climb – 4 overall

1 – Piece of Cake (road/flat, short distance course or sections)
2 – Little More Than a Piece of Cake (Road/trail/steps/some hills). Nothing too serious, all runnable.
3 – Tough Stuff. Still having fun though! Some road, mostly trail with smooth and technical sections – may find yourself speed walking or hiking some sections.
4 – This Could Hurt! Glad you’re a well-honed Trail Running Machine! (Significant ups and downs mostly trail, some very technical sections, recce recommended.
5 – Agony of DEFEET. Only way through is up down and then back up again! Technical rocky, rooty, lots of vertical trail and steps, pre race recce highly recommended.

19. CP Food and Beverage

Healthy ‘green’ energy bites, water and electrolyte beverages will be made available at the one check point up top of the course (@approximately 12.5km of the race).

30. Third Party Racepack Collection

All GreenRace Events have bag drop services available. We will not be held responsible for lost or damaged personal items at the event.
